GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — It's that time of year again -- snow has returned to Michigan.
While many in West Michigan woke up to patchy frost, Marquette saw their first snowflakes of the season early Friday morning.
The low temperature dropped to 33°F in Marquette this morning. Ground temperatures are still in the low 50s so snow did not accumulate.
If you are heading to the Upper Peninsula this weekend, temperatures highs will climb to the 40s both days.
West Michigan temperatures will be cool, too, but not cold enough to produce snowflakes yet.
The average date to see trace snowfall in Grand Rapids is October 26, while the first measurable snow date is November 6.
