GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — With the autumnal equinox quickly approaching on September 22 at 8:44 AM EDT, one notable feature of the season is set to end after Tuesday night.
Sept. 10 will be the final day of an 8 p.m. or later sunset in Grand Rapids until March 24, 2025.
West Michigan gains the most amount of daylight around the vernal equinox (about 2 minutes and 56 seconds each day) and loses the most amount of daylight around the autumnal equinox (about 2 minutes and 53 seconds each day), while it slows down around the summer and winter solstices.
In one month's time in September, we lose about one hour and 24 minutes of daylight!
Look for plenty of beautiful sunsets in the next several days as sunshine will prevail with little likelihood of rain
