GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. —
How Hot Was It Wednesday?
The high temperature on Wednesday in Grand Rapids tied for the hottest so far in 2023, reaching 91°, matching the same highs on June 1, 2, and 21 and July 5.
Temperatures soared starting around noon, peaking around 6 p.m.
Dew points surged as well, climbing close to 80° in many locations. The 79° reading in Grand Rapids tied for the fourth highest on record.
The heat index skyrocketed above 100° as well, making it the hottest since June 14, 2022.
When Will The Heat Break?
A cold front will slide across the Great Lakes region on Friday, gradually lowering temperatures and dew points, so by Saturday afternoon, the weather will feel much more comfortable. Next week, temperatures are expected to remain in the 70s while dew points will drop into the 40s and 50s.
