GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. —
Set Up
Looks like Wednesday will not be a beach, pool or boating day, as showers and thunderstorms may lead to a washout.
July is already wetter than one of our drier Junes on record, with over two inches already in the gauge.
Timeline
Showers and thunderstorms will first arrive along the I-94 corridor around 5 a.m. before a broader area of rain moves into West Michigan around late morning and departs during the early evening.
Potential Rainfall
Rainfall amounts could reach one to two inches in many locations, especially along and south of I-96.
The Weather Prediction Center has placed parts of Lower Michigan in a Slight Risk (2 of 4) for excessive rainfall potential.
What Follows
More showers and thunderstorms are possible Thursday morning and again late Friday into Saturday, although rainfall amounts is expected to be less than ¼''.
With Wednesday's rain lingering into Thursday, high temperatures will be held in the 70s with high dew points in the 60s. The humid weather will leave us on Sunday, replaced with light to moderate hazy skies due to ongoing wildfire smoke through next Tuesday.
As sunshine returns Sunday and most of next week, temperatures will recover into the low to mid 80s.
