GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Yesterday's snowfall totals are in! Grand Rapids broke its daily record, set back in 1989, with 7.6" of snowfall. We've received 7.1" on the Weather Deck as of midnight, and there is more snow on its way.

WHAT
Additional rounds of lake effect snow are expected today and tomorrow. Of this three-day snowfall event, today will likely be the quietest. Although, we are still expecting 3 to 6 inches of snowfall across the region by days end. There will be a lull in the snow early tomorrow, but it will kick back up by the early afternoon hours, ending on Sunday.
WHERE
The areas highlighted in purple are going to see the greatest impacts, bringing an additional 8+ inches of snowfall as we track on Saturday afternoon. 8 inches will be the low end of the range, with the (+) sign indicating higher amounts possible. Along our lakeshore communities, totals will likely be hindered due to water temperatures, rounding out this event at 4+ inches.
Of course, this is not all coming at once. Below is an estimate for 6 a.m. tomorrow morning.

IMPACTS
No matter your location there will be impacts, some greater than others, and conditions will likely improve or deteriorate in quick periods of time. If driving on the roads be sure to slow down, give yourself extra time and prepare for a lot of congestion. Also, there will be periods of whiteout conditions and icy spots.
