On a fall weekend that is going to feel very much like summer, swim conditions on Lake Michigan are going be dangerous Saturday.
The National Weather Service (NWS) is reporting hazardous conditions from Holland to Manistee. A beach hazard statement is in effect until Sunday afternoon in Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan, and Van Buren counties.
Waves are expected to be as high as 6 to 10 feet overnight Saturday and into early Sunday.
Strong currents and high waves will create dangerous swimming conditions, according to NWS. High wave activity could also sweep people off piers, and NWS said piers could be heavily swamped by waves.
