Here are the record-breaking snowfall totals in Michigan so far

Lake effect showers are expected to continue this weekend.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — More than two feet of snow fell in Gaylord, Michigan on Friday, smashing its all-time daily record.

The National Weather Service post in Gaylord said on Friday, Nov. 29, they recorded 24.4 inches of snow. The previous daily record was set on March 29, 1942, at 17".

The snow is still falling Saturday morning and lake-effect showers are expected to continue throughout the weekend.

Sault Ste. Marie recorded 15.7" on Friday, Nov. 29, which made it the 6th snowiest date on record dating back to 1888.

In Grand Rapids, about 9.2" of snow fell on Friday, breaking the previous daily record for Nov. 29. The previous record was 4.5" set in 1960.

Snowfall for Grand Rapids is measured at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport, where it's clear lake effect was persistent in that location.
