WALKER, Mich. — As a highly-anticipated winter storm begins to bear down on West Michigan, one company, Plowz and Mowz, is providing on-demand plowing services to residents through the use of online and mobile app services.
While road crews and emergency services are out in full force to clear roads in the area as the storm continues, snow accumulation in residents' own driveways could create problems that they themselves will need to solve.
Because of this, Plowz and Mowz is aiming to provide those who are stuck in place with a quick way out.
Those in need can order these plowing services by visiting the company's website or downloading its mobile app.
According to Plowz and Mowz Co-Founder William Mahoney, the website and app will calculate the cost of service based on information provided by the customer including driveway measurements, the amount of snow present and when the customer would like the plow crew to arrive.
"As a customer, you enter our app, you give us a few things of information, you get an instant price within our app before, you know, a snow professional comes out on site," Mahoney said. "So, essentially, you put in that information, you place that order and then someone, the closest snow plow partner, gets dispatched out to your property."
He said that the company will seek to help customers and those in need during the storm through efficient and transparent processes.
"As things are going on, you get the [estimated time of arrival], you know when the snowplow professional's going to be showing up at your property," Mahoney said.
Mahoney said that crews can complete jobs in as little as 10 minutes. While he acknowledged that the storm could create delays in plows arriving to properties, he said that the company is prepared to handle an expected influx of orders as quickly as possible.
