MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich — Severe weather in West Michigan Monday evening caused thousands to lose power and scattered damage throughout the area.
The storms appear to have caused the most damage in Mecosta County, causing power outages that include several schools in the Morley Standwood Community Schools district. The district will be closed on Tuesday.
The storms left tens of thousands without power across the state.
Viewers sent photos of the storm before it hit as well as some of the damage.
