GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A storm system affecting the Lower Midwest on Monday will surge towards the Great Lakes region Tuesday, possibly bringing strong to severe weather to portions of West Michigan.
SEVERE WEATHER RISK
According to the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) Monday afternoon, West Michigan is included in a Marginal Risk (1/5) and a Slight Risk (2/5) for southern Lower Michigan. Risks include a moderate risk for large hail (1"+) and damaging winds (60+ mph) and a lower risk for possible tornadoes.
TIMELINE
Two rounds of thunderstorms are possible: the first round from 11 am to 3 pm and a possible second round from 3 pm to 8 pm Tuesday.
