WALKER, Michigan — Walker Police are warning drivers to turn around after heavy rain flooded a section of road in Walker Tuesday morning.
Veterans Memorial Drive is closed between Butterworth and Riverbend, Walker Police said.
The Grand River is over its banks, though the water has since receded a bit. Road closure signs have been posted.
Drivers are asked to use the posted detour.
This high water isn't out of the ordinary. This section around Johnson Park floods annually.
The potential for severe thunderstorms has increased for Wednesday, April 5, including a higher risk for large hail and tornadoes, along with damaging thunderstorm wind gusts.
Stay weather aware.
