GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Rain, snow, and wonky temperatures are a signature of Michigan spring and that is certainly proving true this year. Buckle up, because the temperatures are taking us on quite the ride over the next 10 days.
We will drop into the 40s from now through Saturday. This will be coupled with an unsettled weather pattern of isolated rain and snow showers. That light rain and snow mix comes to an end early Saturday afternoon.
The early part of next week brings a notable pattern change. Temperatures climb back into the 50s Sunday, jumping into the 60s by next Monday! It doesn't stop there, as of now, Tuesday and Wednesday's temperatures could easily rise into the lower 70s. That's a 30-degree temperature swing in just three days.
Sunday through Tuesday looks dry with a good dose of sunshine. Although, our rainy and unsettled weather pattern looks to return Wednesday through Friday of next week with thunderstorms and rain showers possible.
This warm-up will be short-lived. Long-term model outlooks are showing Wed. Apr. 13 through Tue. Apr. 19 call for below average temperatures and above average precipitation. Average highs are around 57-59° with an average precipitation of 0.99" and average snow of 0.5''.
Overall, this weather rollercoaster is on cue for April and I am sure there will be more ups and downs to come in the forecast. For the latest and most up to date forecast click here.
