Early look at our Fourth of July forecast

A sunny and very warm holiday weekend is looking likely.
Over 2000 American flags line the streets of McAdenville every Independence Day to honor veterans.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Get ready for more heat and sunshine in West Michigan!

Independence Day is around the corner and it looks like nothing will be standing in the way of any outdoor plans. Just make sure you have extra popsicles, water and sunscreen on standby.

Here is the breakdown:

Saturday will be sunny, very warm, and lowering humidity. The high will be around 85°. Sunny skies continue on Sunday with even hotter temperatures. Highs make it into the upper 80s.

A few more clouds build into the forecast for Independence Day itself. Humidity levels climb with dew points in the 60s and temperatures near 90°.

With how dry we have been for the last several weeks there may be some concern of fire danger heading into the weekend. This is something that should be closely monitored as it could impact your ability to set off fireworks and bonfires.

Otherwise, this dry, sunny, and very warm holiday weekend is what most people are hoping for this holiday weekend, and very similar to what we experienced last year in West Michigan.
