ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich — While West Michigan was experiencing some thunderstorms Tuesday evening the National Weather Service briefly issued a tornado warning for Allegan and Barry counties.
Those have since been canceled.
Sirens also went off in Kent County. However, only a small portion of Southern Kent County was in the path.
13 ON YOUR SIDE's Chief Meteorologist George Lessens said he thinks adding Kent County to the warning was a mistake.
The warning in Kent County only lasted three minutes.
At 9:38 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for northeastern Allegan and northwestern Barry Counties.
The warning said that at 9:35 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Middleville, or 14 miles west of Hastings, moving East at 35 mph.
At 9:48 p.m., the NWS said the storm weakened and canceled the tornado warning.
Many 13 ON YOUR SIDE viewers shared photos of hail or stormy skies throughout Tuesday's weather.
