A complete guide to ArtPrize 2024

ArtPrize 2024 will feature the works of more than 950 artists from 42 U.S. states and 53 countries in over 170 venues in Grand Rapids.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids' biggest art festival is returning, with hundreds of venues, artists and creations spread out downtown and beyond. 

ArtPrize 2024 will feature the works of more than 950 artists from 42 U.S. states and 53 countries in over 170 venues in Grand Rapids. 

More than $600,000 in grant money will be awarded to participating artists. 

This year, ArtPrize is comprised of five different districts: Center City, Northside, Southside, Eastside and Westside. 

According to Experience Grand Rapids, this is the largest ArtPrize since 2017. 

When Is ArtPrize?

ArtPrize 2024 runs from Sept. 13-28.

What Events Are Happening During ArtPrize?

The festivities begin with three separate parades through downtown Grand Rapids on Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. 

The public is welcome to walk in the parades with fellow community members and bands. Parades will begin at Fish Ladder Park, Monroe Skate Park, or the ArtPrize ClubHouse. 

All three parades will end at the Pearl Street Bridge, where visitors will find music, food trucks and beverages from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

Organizers have also promised a big surprise involving new technology and a fireworks show over the Grand River. 

There will be a HalfTime show for the festival on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. in Studio Park. 

At the event, there will be an announcement of the top 100 vote-getters from the first week of the competition alongside entertainment from America's Got Talent finalists and The Pack Drumline. 

ArtPrize 2024 winners will be revealed at the closing ceremony on Sept. 28 in Grand Rapids' historic Woodbridge N Ferris Building at 17 Pearl St. NW. 

There will be food trucks, a cash bar, a light and laser show and a circus performance at the event.

Where Are The Venues?

There are more than 170 venues across Grand Rapids participating in ArtPrize 2024.

How Can I See The Entries?

ArtPrize 2024 features works from more than 950 artists. 

All ArtPrize entries can be found here. The listing includes the entry's voting ID, artist information and the venue where the art can be found. 

Another way to find an entry is by searching the venues.

What Are The Categories?

There are six different categories which entries fall under in the festival. A complete list describing them can be found here

How Can I Vote For Entries?

Organizers announced voting is going to look at bit different at ArtPrize this year. 

Instead of voting happening in rounds, it'll be open for all 16 days of the festival. 

Anyone 13 years or older who is at ArtPrize can vote at the event at least once. 

Your first vote needs to be cast within an ArtPrize district through the ArtPrize mobile web app or the dedicated voting location on-site. 

Voting needs to be done with a smartphone or mobile device. 

Organizers said more details and information on the voting process will be made available soon.

Is Public Transit Available?

Public transit downtown includes free DASH shuttle services, Ride The Rapid bus services and Lime E-Scooters and E-Bikes.
