GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — If you love chocolate, wine and a night out with your girlfriends then you won't want to miss the upcoming Wine, Women and Chocolate fundraising event for the Women's Resource Center.
Proceeds from the event support programs dedicated to empowering women to become economically self-sufficient through career development and personal growth, “Our gender focused mission is part of a greater movement to create an equitable and inclusive culture, free of racism and discrimination,” says Sandra Gaddy, CEO of Women’s Resource Center.
One of their unique programs includes New Beginnings, a job readiness program for women at Kent County Jail that provides one-on-one and group mentoring, individualized employment plans and life skills development.
The Women's Resource Center serves nearly 600 women in our community. The Wine, Women and Chocolate event helps fund their programs.
This year's fundraiser is Thursday, October 3 from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Cascade Hills Country Club.
