GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Omi Medina-Pagan, 47, has been sentenced to 26.5 to 60 years for the murder of 26-year-old Pacifique Uwimana according to Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker.
Uwimana's body was discovered along Plaster Creek in December of 2023. Uwimana's death was ruled a homicide and police found it was in connection to an armed robbery.
Medina-Pagan and Elitud Lazaro, 36, were both charged with felony murder and two counts of armed robbery. Police said both men were already in custody when they were charged.
In addition to the sentence for the homicide, Medina-Pagan was sentenced to 14-40 years for the armed robbery.
