KENT CITY, Mich. — A Kent City man is headed to trial for his alleged sexual abuse of a child. The man is accused of committing these sex crimes while knowing he has a positive HIV status.
Christopher Haggerty had his preliminary hearing Wednesday morning.
He faces three counts of criminal sexual conduct first degree, one count of criminal sexual conduct second degree and a charge related to having sexual contact while knowing his positive HIV status.
The victim in the case, a child who is now 11 years old, testified.
On the stand, the child said the abuse began when they were as young as 5 or 6 years old, and continued until this year.
A trial date has not yet been set. Haggerty's bond was previously set at $2,000,000.
