POSSIBLE DELAYS | Corewell Health warns of delays after technology outage, hospitals and emergency rooms open

Corewell Health says that some procedures and appointments might be delayed after a worldwide technology outage affected their computer systems.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Corewell Health is telling patients to be aware that some procedures and appointments might be delayed Friday following a worldwide technology outage.

The health care network says that many of its computer systems have been affected by the outage but their hospitals and emergency rooms are still open.

Corewell Health provided a statement regarding the outage Friday morning:

"Many of our computers and systems are affected by the current global technology issue. Our teams are assessing the situation and working together to care for our patients. Our hospitals and emergency rooms are open. Some procedures and appointments might be delayed. Please visit CorewellHealth.org for the latest updates."

The outage has also affected flights at Gerald R. Ford Airport.
