MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. — 52-year-old Dane Neino has been released from the Muskegon County Jail on a $10,000 bond according to court records.

His release comes just days before his next court appearance where he's expected to enter a plea.

Police say Neino was driving on Apple Avenue and Roberts Street in Muskegon when he crossed the center line and fatally collided with 38-year-old Nathan Conrad. He is also suspected of driving under the influence.

Conrad was a father who loved to ride his motorcycle and go to church.

His wife, Mary, said she can't heal until justice is served.

"I'm angry," said Mary. "It doesn't make any sense that this man who killed my husband was able to even have a bond. He clearly has no respect for their law. He was driving with a suspended or revoked license."

Neino was in court two weeks ago for one of numerous attempts to enter a plea. During that hearing, Judge Matthew Kacel told the defendant that this would be his last delay before a possible trial.

Judge Kacel explained to the courtroom what was behind the decision to push the hearing back two weeks ago.

“There's a legal issue regarding the causation elements or the facts of this case regarding whether or not Mr. Neino was asked to remove the vehicle off the victim or whether or not that could be a causation,” said Judge Kacel.

Mary’s attorney, Loryn Schlinker, explained their understanding of a claim made by the defense that caused the discussion.

“It sounds as though the defense’s attorneys is trying to argue in the deputies attempting to move the vehicle, that’s what ultimately caused the death,” said Schlinker.
