Michigan Presidential Primary | Early in-person voting begins across the state

Multiple locations across West Michigan were open for voters on Saturday, including local schools, town halls and community centers.

MICHIGAN, USA — Voters across Michigan took to the polls on Saturday to vote in the presidential primary election as early in-person voting opened in the state for the very first time.

This early access to the polls comes thanks to a constitutional amendment voters passed in 2022 that expanded early voting.

Beginning state-wide this year, early voting will be available for at least nine consecutive days, ending the Sunday before an election. Local communities can also decide to expand the early voting up to 29 days.

Multiple locations across West Michigan were open for voters on Saturday, including local schools, town halls and community centers.

Some counties have decided to completely oversee early voting and have centralized locations and dates. Other counties let local cities and townships decide their early voting locations and dates.

If you're waiting to vote until the official Election Day, the election takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 27. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. You must be in line by 8 p.m. to vote.

Your polling place can be found on the Michigan government's website. You can either search by voter information, driver's license number, address or county.
