GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — After the community in Grand Haven highlighted a pothole so big you could fit a recliner in it, many found humor when someone actually did.
You can find the crater just off North Beacon Boulevard near Applebee's in Grand Haven.
It's apparently well-known to the community, and could certainly cost you a tire or two if your car crossed paths with it.
Whether to make a joke or to draw attention for a fix, someone put a gray recliner into the pothole.
Much to the community's delight on social media, the chair was replaced with a traffic barrel over the weekend.
The new arrival hasn't killed anyone's fun. Many are now posting pictures of the barrel with their own twists.
Some folks put rubber ducks in the water. And of course, you have the classic fishing pose in the pothole. Others dressed up the cone with a wig and sunglasses.
The origin and departure of the recliner remains a mystery.
The City of Grand Haven said they didn't remove the chair, and they don't know who did.
The Director of Public Works Derek Gajdos said the city will likely contact the property owners after the holiday to address road conditions.
