GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A teenager is facing charges in connection to a stabbing that left one man dead in Grand Rapids this weekend.
Isiah Williams, 18, has been charged with manslaughter in the death of Lynn Edward Jones, 50.
The stabbing happened Saturday afternoon in the 800 block of Alpine Avenue NW. Responding officers found Jones at the scene and attempted life-saving measures.
Jones died at the scene. His death has been ruled a homicide.
According to court documents, Williams was the one who called police to the scene. While on the phone, he said, "I killed somebody" and that he would be waiting outside "ready to be put into handcuffs."
He described the weapon he used as being a "sword," according to court documents.
Williams was taken into custody for investigation on Saturday.
