HOLLAND, Mich. — Out of 100 streets across the country, 8th street in Downtown Holland, ranked as the cleanest in the state. South Main Street in Frankenmuth, which they cited as “Michigan’s Little Bavaria,” ranked #58. This is according to a recent survey by Waste Removal USA with more than 3,000 responses.
“These locations not only offer visual appeal but also enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors alike,” Waste Removal USA said in a statement. “Clean streets play a significant role in creating welcoming and vibrant communities, and we hope this survey encourages more places to prioritize cleanliness and charm.”
The dumpster rental company also referenced local sites and events including Windmill Island Gardens, Tulip Time Festival and the annual Fiesta celebration underscoring the city’s Dutch-style influences and “West Michigan charm.” Holland, ranking #12 in the survey, also beat out streets in other states including Vermont, New Jersey and California.
In light of this achievement, Downtown Holland thanked their Parks and Recreation team in a post on Monday for their hard work in keeping the area clean. This comes two months after the city of Grand Rapids ranked #8 in a CNN poll listing the top U.S. cities to visit.
