GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Court documents reveal more about a Grand Rapids shooting that left a mother dead and her two sons injured.
Keontae Moore, a 33-year-old from Wyoming, is charged with open murder, two counts of assault with intent to murder and felony weapons charges in the incident.
Police said he's currently in custody at the Kent County Correctional Facility.
GRPD said on Oct. 24, Tracey Broyles, 55, was killed in a shooting around 6:50 p.m. in the 900 block of Pastiche Drive SE. Two other people were also injured in the shooting.
Broyles was pronounced dead at the scene and the two male victims, her two sons, were taken to a hospital in serious condition. GRPD said the men are recovering from their injuries.
Moore was identified by witnesses after the shooting.
Police say "living victims" reported not seeing a weapon on Moore until he pulled it out and began shooting that October day.
Moore has multiple previous felony convictions that make him ineligible to carry a weapon. Most notably, he was out on bond for a concealed carry charge from October 8 at the time of the shooting.
