USAF A-10 Warthog Demo Team arrives in Muskegon County for airshow

The United States Air Force is retiring this aircraft from public demonstrations at the end of the 2024 season. This is your last chance to see them in Michigan.

NORTON SHORES, Mich. — A pair of warthogs landed on the tarmac Thursday afternoon just in time for the Farewell Tour of the U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II at the Wings Over Muskegon air show.

"This is their farewell tour. We will not see an A-10 demo on the air show circuit after this year. In fact, Wings Over Muskegon is the last show stop in Michigan for this demo. And so that's going to be sort of a bittersweet moment to watch it. It's an incredible team," Brenda Kerfoot, Communications Director for the Muskegon Flight Museum, said.

Wings Over Muskegon kicks off Friday, Aug. 9 with a twilight show complete with lights, pyrotechnics and music at the Muskegon County Airport. The air show continues Saturday and Sunday, featuring civilian and military aircraft, and much more.

Two fighter aircraft from different eras and countries will also take part in the show.

Performers in the air show include the GhostWriter Airshows, the Hot Streak II Jet Truck and local formation team The Hooligans. You can see a whole list here.

There will be food trucks at the air show, as well as beverages including beer, wine and cocktails available for purchase.

There are a variety of ticket options available which can be found here. All tickets must be purchased online, including parking for Saturday and Sunday.

Kids ages 15 and younger can get into the event for free.
