ALLEGAN, Mich. — Other pharmacies in West Michigan are offering to help Rite Aid customers amid closures.
Carly Greenhoe is a pharmacist at Moore Family Pharmacy inside Village Market in Allegan. The pharmacy is a part of the larger Good Neighbor Pharmacy group.
"We have had a lot of calls and people coming in who are just asking if we're taking new patients," Greenhoe said Thursday.
She told 13 ON YOUR SIDE Rite Aid customers are coming in saying the Allegan store is closing and they need a new pharmacy to fill their prescriptions.
"We absolutely are accepting new patients. We're more than happy to help them kind of walk through the process," she said.
An Allegan Medical Center employee also posted this on Facebook:
12 West Michigan stores are closing as Rite Aid continues to go through the Chapter 11 bankruptcy process. However, the Allegan store is not on that list and there are no store closing signs posted inside or outside.
13 ON YOUR SIDE asked an employee if the store is closing and they referred us to Rite Aid corporate. 13 ON YOUR SIDE has reached out to Rite Aid corporate several times this week and has yet to receive a response.
"Our number one thing is here to serve our community, and so in times of need like this, we are more than happy to do anything and everything we can just to try and make this tough transition that people are going through as simple as possible," said Greenhoe.
Moore Family Pharmacy offers a med sync program, blister packing and delivery services.
