WYOMING, Mich. — For the second time in two weeks, someone walked into a Wyoming Fifth Third Bank to rob it.
That's according to the Wyoming Police Department, who said on Tuesday morning a 59-year-old suspect walked into the Fifth Third Bank on Michael Avenue, approached the teller and demanded cash.
He implied he had a weapon, police said, and he got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
When authorities showed up at the bank, employees gave law enforcement the suspect's description. That information was quickly shared with other agencies.
As officers and a K9 were searching for the suspect, a Grand Rapids Police officer spotted him near 28th Street and Buchannan Avenue SW.
Authorities said he had cash in his possession, so he was arrested and taken to the Kent County Jail.
Law enforcement won't share his name until he is arraigned.
The Wyoming Police Department said this is the second robbery at that same bank location in less than two weeks. Both times, the suspect was arrested within minutes, police said.
"Wyoming Police are grateful that no one was injured in either of these incidents and appreciate the assistance of the Grand Rapids Police in helping locate the suspect in this robbery. Wyoming Police Detectives and the FBI will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding both robberies," police said in a news release.
