MICHIGAN, USA — Election Day is less than a week away and many Michiganders are already stopping at the polls for early in-person voting.
According to the State of Michigan, every Michigan voter who votes in person during early voting or on Election Day must either have a photo ID or sign an affidavit attesting they don't have one.
A Michigan driver's license or a Michigan personal identification card can satisfy the requirement for a photo ID.
Those who don't have either of these documents can show any of these forms of photo ID as long as they're current:
- Driver’s license or personal ID card issued by another state
- Federal, state, or local government-issued photo ID
- U.S. passport
- Military photo ID card
- Student photo ID card from an educational institution
- Tribal photo ID card
Voters who don't have an acceptable photo ID or who forgot to bring an acceptable photo ID can still vote, but they must sign an affidavit.
