MICHIGAN, USA — Election Day is finally here. But for many Michiganders, their ballots are already turned in.
Nearly half of the state's active registered voters have already cast a ballot.
The Michigan Voting Dashboard shows a total of more than 3,300,000 ballots cast between early in-person voting and absentee voting. That is 45.7% of the 7,263,782 registered voters with an active status in Michigan.
And for absentee voters, once that ballot is out of your hands, you can now rest assured it's being counted. Here's how.
Go to the Michigan.gov/Vote website and click on the "Voter Information" tab along the top. From there, you'll fill in your information as it appears on your ballot and click "search by name."
You should see plenty of your election information, including where your polling place is, your clerk's name and your drop box site.
Along the right side of the page, you'll see a column titled "absentee ballot." That will tell you if your ballot was received yet.
As soon as results begin to trickle into our newsroom once the polls close at 8 p.m., 13onyourside.com/elections is your hub for results.
Here's a complete list of Michigan county election clerk's websites where you'll find unofficial results on election night.
