Marshawn Kneeland shines at Western Michigan pro day

The Grand Rapids native and Godwin Heights grad continued to see his draft stock rise in front of 23 NFL teams.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — In front of 23 NFL teams on Thursday at the Donald Seelye Athletic Center, Western Michigan defensive end and Grand Rapids native Marshawn Kneeland saw his draft stock continue to rise.

Kneeland chose to only participate in individual position drills but heard positive feedback from NFL teams with his dream of turning pro on the cusp of becoming a reality.

"It's a crazy feeling, man. I was heavily under-recruited coming out of high school so for these guys to reach out to me and give me the opportunity to showcase my talents and now I'm about to go to the NFL, man, it doesn't get any better than that," said Kneeland.

This comes after the week that Kneeland opened eyes at the NFL combine where he had the best three-come drill and shuttle times for any defensive end.

Kneeland chose to stay at Western Michigan his senior year instead of transferring to Colorado to play for Deion Sanders.

The Godwin Heights graduate found a spot on the second-team all-MAC roster in 2023 with a career-high 57 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Kneeland also forced two fumbles for the Broncos defense.

The NFL Draft will begin on Thursday, April 25th from downtown Detroit, where Kneeland is currently projected as a day-two pick by ESPN.
