GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — This week's Meijer Scholar Athlete just might be your pharmacist in a few years. That's the goal for Reeths-Puffer senior Trent Reichert.
Reichert is a captain on the baseball team and is set to graduate in the spring with a 4.2 GPA. He's also a member of the National Honor Society and different leadership groups at the school.
Reichert's GPA currently has him ranked eighth in his graduating class. He balances that with the team's ambitions of heading to the state playoffs this season.
Reichert said the key to balancing baseball and school is getting and staying in a good routine.
"It's hard to balance it all," said Reichert. "You gotta make time for the most important things. I always put classroom first before sports, so get out of practice, go home, study, do your schoolwork, go to bed. It's just a routine you gotta get into."
Reichert plans to head to Ferris State in the fall as he begins his journey of becoming a pharmacist.
