DETROIT — Kelly Stafford shared a message to Rams and Lions fans alike Monday after Detroit beat Los Angeles 24-23 at Ford Field Sunday night.
Kelly, the wife of former Lions QB Matthew Stafford, lamented the loss but celebrated the Rams' season saying "What a season, and for it to end at Ford Field."
The win was the Lions first playoff win since 1992, including Matthew's inability to take home a victory in the postseason during his 12 years in Detroit.
Kelly made the comment on her Instagram account with a picture of the Stafford family at Ford Field.
She went on to say that she is excited for next season in Los Angeles and made it a point to mention that Matthew will be back as well.
But Kelly also made sure she showed some support for the Lions, a team that drafted her husband first overall in 2009.
Kelly ended her post with her message to Lions fans across the state, "And he will be back next year Detroit, but until then, go get you one!!!"
Matthew Stafford was met with boos when he made his way onto the field Sunday night. That disdain for the former Lions QB seemed to quickly fade after the Lions victory in Detroit, with many fans wishing the Stafford family the best of luck next season.
