ZEELAND, Mich. — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced updated closures for the I-196 Business Loop rebuild project.
As of Monday, 120th Avenue and Waverly Road have reopened.
Meanwhile, 112th Avenue at the I-196 Business Loop closed at 7 a.m. Monday and will remain closed through early June.
The eastbound I-196 Business Loop will have closures from US-31 to 101st Avenue through Aug. 1. Then, the westbound lanes will close from August until late November.
This $17 million project is anticipated to bring nearly 250 jobs to Ottawa County. Transportation officials hope the rebuilding will improve the driving experience and extend the life of this area of the Business Loop.
