Storms whip through West Michigan, causing some damage

Power outages are scattered across West Michigan

Strong thunderstorms swept through West Michigan Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning, leaving some damage in their wake. 

13 ON YOUR SIDE crews traveled to Muskegon County to find several trees and branches down. There have been no reports of any serious injury due the storms.

Consumers Energy has reported power outages across West Michigan, with 1,162 customers reportedly effected in East Grand Rapids. Other outages are scattered across West Michigan. 

The severe thunderstorm watches and warnings that were in effect overnight have now expired.
